Lovaeta Amoako

Board Member

Lovaeta K. Amoako, is a native New Yorker that grew up in the Bronx. Her mother was African American, with connections to the south, and her father is from Ghana, West Africa.


Lovaeta is a lover of travel, culture, cultivating relationships, empowering people of the Diaspora, and curating and supporting impactful events that promote culture. She is the Founder and CEO of LOCnificent Fest which creates a dynamic and positive filled space for people to celebrate the beauty, richness and culture of locs and natural hair. It brings together people of various age groups, ethnic backgrounds, and hair textures while allowing for the promotion and support of entrepreneurs and black- and brown-owned businesses.


Lovaeta has also worked for New York City government for nearly 15 years within the capacity of community planning, affordable housing, and real estate development. She currently serves as a director within NYC Public Housing Authority's Real Estate Development Department, where she ensures alignment across various departments to facilitate successful real estate development transactions and ensures that equity and inclusion are embedded in REDD’s policies, procedures and programs. Throughout her career, she has fostered relationships, acted as a liaison, and preserved over 5,400+ units of affordable housing through transactions totaling over $584 million in rehabilitation construction.


From the moment she learned about Africa Everything, she was very impressed with its authentic and passion-driven efforts to improve the lives of the youth in West Africa. As an individual with ties to Ghana specifically, she understands the importance of sowing into our youth, Africa, and the community. Thus, she is enthusiastic to be a board member of Africa Everything and make positive contributions to the beautiful countries of West Africa.
